| EAN/UCC lobby standard frequencies for RFID in retail On April 19th, Bruxelles (Rue de Geneve 1, European Commission, building G1, Baraldini Conference Room), there will be an important workshop on RFID and Radio Spectrum Harmonization to talk about the issues surrounding current regulatory framework of Radio Spectrum policy in Europe (see UHF). This workshop will also be RFID educational and informative of RFID in general and of the EAN.UCC GTAG Program, that is aimed to deliver a set of enabling standards for truly open and global RFID Supply Chain Applications. The European Commission (DG Enterprise) sponsors and host the event, organized by EAN International and UCC. The workshop is free of charges but reservation is necessary due to logistic reasons. Bookings, agenda and additional information can be asked directly to franciosi@ean-int.org (my tel/fax nr. can be posted). Interested parties will be sent documentation. We are currently approaching CEPT/ERC to gain their participation to the Workshop platform (ERO already confirmed). The Workshop is directed to users and aims to raise the awareness at a European Commission level. But it is also open to anybody interested or involved in the RFID arena. We have already received broad and great multi-industry support (from Finland to South Africa, from Portugal to Russia) and major corporations have already confirmed the attendance of senior executives to this workshop. Over 100 letters of support have been received, and confirm industry support to the GTAG program and to the Workshop initiative.
